Junior Web Designer

We're a well-knit digital design studio working with products, brands and (ai-)code. Top founders come to us because we get early-stage like no one else. We help them define, build and scale future unicorns. That means we think beyond eye-candy (though a criminally good shader still hits). Fair warning: this is not a place to coast. The pace is set by founders who move fast, and we like it that way.

We're looking for an independent Junior Web Designer for a long-term B2B cooperation: someone hyped to build 0→1. You organise your own time and place of work and deliver the agreed results your way. Nobody here is breathing down your neck about what, when or how you do it. See a better route to the goal? Take it and take the cred.

The cooperation is non-exclusive: you're free to work with other clients, as long as it doesn't create an actual conflict of interest or breach confidentiality. Each project (scope, timeline, remuneration) is agreed separately, and taking one on is always your call.

Sounds like your kind of collaboration? Apply below.

What You’ll Do

This is a cooperation for someone early in their career who wants to ship real work fast, with senior designers around them. As a Junior Web Designer you will:

  • Design and ship pages and whole websites for early-stage startups - with a senior designer reviewing your work and pushing it further
  • Use AI as a default part of your workflow to get from idea to prototype in hours, not weeks
  • Build and maintain design systems in Figma - components, tokens, responsive states, handoff-ready files
  • Help prototype custom AI-powered features (chat interfaces, generative tools, personalization layers) alongside senior designers and developers
  • Design for conversion, not decoration - you will see how your work performs and iterate on it
  • Assist with copywriting - working with AI to draft, refine and pressure-test messaging so design and text reinforce each other
  • Stay on top of the rapidly evolving AI + design landscape and bring what you find into projects
  • Join brainstorming sessions and design critiques - your ideas count from day one, and the feedback you get is direct and honest

It’s a match if you’re like this

You will thrive here if you are early in your career but already shipping - and hungry to move much faster. You:

  • Have 1-2 years of design experience or a handful of real projects shipped - internship, freelance or your own products all count
  • Have a portfolio with a few web projects that shows creativity, originality and clear thinking - personal projects and experiments very welcome
  • Are solid in Figma: components, auto layout, responsive thinking, tidy files someone else can pick up
  • Have strong visual fundamentals - typography, layout, hierarchy, spacing
  • Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, v0, Midjourney, Flora etc.) as part of your daily workflow, not as a gimmick
  • Can take a defined task from brief to delivery on your own - and have the judgment to ask for help at the right moment
  • Understand storytelling and how visuals and words combine to communicate an idea
  • Are curious about conversion - you want to know why a design performs, not only whether it looks good
  • Are excited about prototyping custom AI solutions and curious about creative coding (GSAP, Three.js), even if you are at the very beginning
  • Have strong attention to detail and high standards for anything that leaves your hands
  • Are fluent in English and comfortable joining calls with founders
  • Are open to feedback and learn fast - the pace here is set by founders who move fast

Bonus points

  • You have built or shipped a small AI-powered tool, prototype or side project
  • You have first experience prompting and orchestrating LLMs to do real design or research work - not just generating copy
  • Basics of motion design (GSAP, After Effects, Rive, Spline, Jitter)
  • Some exposure to branding or digital marketing
  • Interest in or experience with the startup ecosystem

What the cooperation includes

  • A world-class bench around you: high-agency, senior, low-ego. We set the bar high, raise it often, and pull you up with it
  • Founders from the Valley's top rosters: a16z Speedrun, YC, HF0 and more. We've partnered with 400+ of them
  • AI-native delivery, not pixel pushing. The studio runs on it, and how you use it can shape how we all do
  • A direct line to founders. Strong ideas go from concept to shipped in days, the decision loop is that short
  • Trips to SF when the project calls for it. You get the epicenter up close
  • Top-tier AI tooling (whatever's winning right now) and every access the project needs
  • EU-timezone cooperation, overlap only where the project genuinely needs it
  • Optional invites to dinners, retreats and nights out. Come if you feel like it

The process

1. You first
Hit that big Apply button and tell us about yourself. Don't forget to attach your portfolio.

2. Vibe check
Let's jump on a call, so we can both figure out whether it's a fit.

3. Show off

You’ll get a task so we can see your magic in practice.

4. Seal the deal

One last call to talk details (e.g. the scope and model of cooperation, remuneration, expected availability) and that's it!

Process description

This selection process will require you to use AI. We’ll need a proof/log of your collaboration (for example an access to GPT session, Claude Code session, or .md files wrapping up your journey). We’ll use it to understand your thought processes, how you achieve specific results, how you cope with problems, solve issues and overall - how tech-savvy you are.
